Privacy Policy — MarkOne

MarkOne is a habit tracking application developed by Capucho Labs (“we”, “our”, “us”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the MarkOne application (“App”), available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Web.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
- Account data: email address and password when creating an account.
- Habit data: name, icon, color, category, frequency, time, duration, and completion dates of the habits you create.
- Checklists: name, icon, color, and items of the lists you create.
- Suggestions: title, description, and author name (optional) when submitting suggestions.
- Firebase Analytics: we collect anonymous usage data such as usage frequency, features accessed, and device information (model, operating system, app version). This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
- Subscription data: purchase information processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, managed by RevenueCat. We do not have access to your complete credit card or payment method data.

- Device contacts
- Photos, camera, or microphone
- Data from other apps
- Health information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App’s functionality
- Sync your data across devices (Premium feature)
- Process and manage your subscription
- Send local notifications (habit reminders and achievements)
- Improve the App based on aggregated usage data
- Manage the community suggestions system
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Local storage
Your habit data, checklists, and settings are stored locally on your device using SQLite. The App works 100% offline.
3.2 Cloud storage
If you create an account and have a Premium subscription, your data is synced with Google Cloud Firestore (a Firebase/Google Cloud service). Servers are located in the United States and follow Google Cloud Platform security standards.
3.3 Authentication
Account management is handled by Firebase Authentication. Your password is encrypted and we do not have access to it in plain text.
3.4 Payments
Subscriptions are processed directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and managed by RevenueCat. We do not store payment data on our servers.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:
- Firebase (Google): for authentication, cloud storage, and analytics.
- RevenueCat: for subscription management.
- Apple / Google: for payment processing in their respective stores.
All mentioned third parties operate under their own privacy policies and security standards.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data at any time through the App.
- Correct your data by editing your habits and checklists.
- Delete your data by removing habits, checklists, or your account.
- Export your data (future feature).
- Cancel your subscription at any time through your store settings (App Store or Google Play).

6. Data Retention
- Local data: remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Cloud data: remains stored as long as your account exists. Upon requesting account deletion, all data will be removed within 30 days.
- Analytics data: is retained in aggregated and anonymous form according to Firebase Analytics policies.
7. Children’s Privacy
MarkOne is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not intentionally collect data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. The “last updated” date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
